Hiab & Sidelifter Container Delivery Solutions
TES operates a modern fleet of Hiab and sidelifter-equipped trucks to deliver and position containers directly where you need them. Whether you are receiving export containers, repositioning equipment, or managing yard space, we offer on-site container lifting without requiring a separate crane.
Advantages of Hiab delivery
- Integrated crane and truck solution
- Ideal for tight access or urban delivery sites
- Excellent control on uneven or restricted surfaces
- Best for 10ft or 20ft empty containers
Advantages of Sidelifter delivery
- Suitable for loaded containers and export units
- Ground-level placement minimises double handling
- Efficient for container yards and haulage handover
- Avoids on-site lifting delays where cranes are not practical
Preparing for a Safe and Efficient Container Lift
-
Access clearance: Minimum 3.1 metres wide, 4.5 metres high
-
Turning space: 15 metre radius recommended
-
Ground conditions: Must be solid, level and free of mud or soft verges
-
Obstruction check: Notify us about overhead wires or gates in advance
-
Arrival process: Driver will assess, deploy stabilisers and complete the lift, usually within 20 to 60 minutes
When to Choose Crane Delivery for Your Container?
- Need to offload containers in locations with limited space
- Are receiving export units without access to lifting equipment
- Are managing temporary sites (construction, agriculture, film sets)
- Want a cost-effective way to lift and place containers without delays
How it works
-
A Hiab vehicle uses a single knuckle‑boom crane arm mounted to the side of the truck to lift the container off the truck and set it down exactly where required.
-
This method is ideal for empty containers up to 20ft, especially when site access is limited.
-
Despite higher per‑mile operational costs than standard trucks, Hiab delivery remains more cost‑effective than hiring a separate crane.
Can your Hiab crane lift over obstacles or fences?
Yes. Our Hiab units can reach up to 6 or 7 metres from the truck, which allows lifting over fences, walls or tight access points.
Can I use this for heavy or loaded containers?
Yes. For loaded containers, we use sidelifters or arrange safe third-party contract lifting. Let us know the weight and we’ll recommend the right option.
